Alexandra Jarige is a portrait and fine arts photographer, who also specializes in documentary-style event photography. Almost three years ago, she returned to the Boston area from Paris, France where she studied at the SPEOS Paris Photographic Institute.
Born in France and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, Alexandra has always been drawn to exploring new landscapes, people and their customs, and has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and North Africa. Her sensitivity to people and places enables her to feel at home just about anywhere and with anyone, a quality reflected in the depth of her photographs.
As a photographer, Alexandra draws on her creative eye and passion for dance, music and poetry, to create inspiring images with style, elegance and artistry. Her work is also influenced by her love of painting – color, texture and light. Often using the camera to “paint with light” in her portraits, Alexandra creates a context in which to tell an interesting story about the subject.
Most recently, her work has been shown at the Thacher Island Art & Photo Show and the Harvard Black Arts Festival.
Alexandra currently divides her working time between weddings and freelance projects including location portraits, headshots, catalog work and event photography in the Greater Boston area.
